Police Investigate Reported Mugging In Lyndonville

policeLYNDONVILLE - Police are investigating a reported mugging that occurred Friday night on Williams street. According to Chief Jack Harris, a woman said that as she was walking by a silver car in a parking lot, an African-American male jumped out of the rear-driver's side and grabbed her by the shoulders.

 The alleged attacker began shouting at the woman in Spanish before ripping her shirt and dumping out her purse, police said. The victim also reported that the man stole debit cards, a sapphire ring and a butterly pendent necklace before getting back in the car and driving off.

The suspect's vehicle, bearing Vermont license plates, is reported to have taken off in the direction of Hill street.

The man is described as being 6'6", about 220 lbs., with short hair and was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt at the time of the reported mugging.
