jeffofalltradesLYNDONVILLE – Jeff Corrow plays a unique role in his community. From father, to dorm parent, to firefighter, Corrow wears many different hats.

Jeff Corrow plays a key role in not only the lives of his 3 children, but also in the lives of foreign students at Lyndon Institute. Corrow is a friendly face for students whose families are on the other side of the world.

“I’m a parent, I treat them just like they are my own children,” Corrow said, “and it’s rewarding to help them do their college stuff or help them get through school, just like it is with my own kids.”

Although the high school students are able to cook, clean, and take care of themselves, Corrow is constantly checking up on them and offering to help out when he can.

“I’m responsible for a couple different dorms that I oversee from roughly  3 o’clock until 11 o’clock,” Corrow explained. “I just check in with the kids, make sure that everyone is okay, if they need any help with their homework… or if I can assist them in any way and just make sure they’re safe.”

And those students aren’t the only ones Corrow is busy keeping safe. As part of the Lyndonville Fire Department, he is always on call in case of an emergency.

“I don’t do it for the money, there is no money in it,” Corrow said, “I do it because this is my way of giving back to the community. It’s something I thoroughly enjoy doing.”

In addition to all of the jobs he holds, Corrow also works as a work crew supervisor at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility in Saint Johnsbury. He can also be found painting in the Summer, and plowing in the Winter.
