Around the NEK -This summer the Vermont Brewers Association created the Northeast Kingdom brew trail for responsible beer lovers to get out and experience different breweries in the Northeast Kingdom.
The Vermont Brewers Association created the trail to try and drive business to local breweries in the kingdom. The brew trail promotional event ran through the month of August through September 12th. The brew trail featured six breweries all around the Northeast Kingdom. "We just wanted to come up with a way to invite people to go back and visit brewers they haven't been to in awhile, or they haven't been to at all. So, featuring a new trail each month will hopefully drive business with either new customers or returning." Said VBA events manager Amy Cronin.
All you had to do was go to www.vermontbrewers.com to find the NEK brew trail map. When you arrived at the brewery you just had to look for the qr code at each stop to mark that you stopped there along the trail. Visit all six, then you had a chance to win a sixteen ounce Yeti colster and day trip lunch bag along with gift certificates to other local NEK businesses.
The winner of this year's trail was Kyle from St. Albans Vermont. To find out more about the Northeast Kingdom brewery trail and other beer trails around Vermont you can go to the vermont brewers association website at www.vermontbrewers.com
